僕は、この点では、経済成長が正しいと思う。
現在のインフラや生活を維持していくためだけにでも、ささやかな１－２％の持続的な経済成長は必要である。
２％の成長の国と、０％成長の国では、約３５年で倍の差がつく。つまり１世代程度で、倍。２世代で４倍の格差が生まれる。いま日本の1/4の所得水準の国を思い浮かべればいいだろう。

たしかに今はいい。しかし、２０年前にはiPhoneもネットもなかったように、２０年後、５０年後の社会はもっといろいろな物が発明され、世の中は便利になっているはずだ。そのとき、それらの便利なものを買って取り込むだけの所得水準を維持するだけでも、1-2%の持続的な成長が必要なのである。
